Four hands. One musical voice

Music that creates emotions

The piano duo FourHands consists of pianists Irina Cherkashyna-Andruško and Kateřina Konopová, who have been collaborating since 2021. Since their inception, they have mainly focused on the repertoire for piano four hands and two pianos, gradually expanding their repertoire to include works from different periods and styles.

In recent years, the duo has been performing intensively on Czech stages and regularly preparing new concert programs. A significant part of their repertoire is made up of works by Czech and Central European composers, such as Dvořák's Slavonic Dances or Smetana's My Homeland. In addition to the classical repertoire, they also focus on 20th and 21st century music, arrangements of orchestral works, and contemporary music projects.

FourHands emphasizes dramaturgically thought-out concert programs and finding new ways to present the repertoire for two pianos and piano four hands to a contemporary audience. In recent years, the duo has also been actively involved in the creation of new program projects and has developed cooperation with other artists and cultural institutions.

An important part of their artistic direction is also the effort to bring classical music closer to a wide audience. Through thoughtful dramaturgy, understandable presentation of individual works and diverse concert formats, they seek a way to reach listeners who may only be getting to know classical music. However, accessibility and openness to the audience does not mean a compromise in artistic quality for FourHands - on the contrary, they strive to ensure that even the demanding repertoire remains a lively, impressive and understandable artistic experience.
